Squiz are migrating to a new DDOS mitigation setup whereby attack mitigation is enabled 24/7 rather than being enabled on demand. This will bring a number of benefits to all Squiz Cloud systems:

- DDOS attacks will continue to be detected in under 5 seconds.
- DDOS mitigation time will be reduced from 30-90 seconds to less than 5 seconds.
- Additional latency for Australian clients while an attack is being mitigated will be greatly reduced.

Predicted Impact:

The work does not involve any downtime or service impact, but since all network changes do involve some degree of risk we are providing this notification as a courtesy.
